The rest of the work is up to the machine. You only have to watch the machine when the clothing check mark

Plus Points

This is a large capacity washing machine which will also help you to save time on your household chores. The machine will clean your clothing and other washables in a large load as it will when there are less items in the machine. This means that you will not have to worry about having less than clean clothes when you take advantage of the large capacity.

The top load design of the machine is more cost effective than a front load washing machine. You will still have all of the same cleaning quality of a front load machine without the extra expense.

Another great feature of this machine is its super capacity to wring water from the clothing during the spin cycle. You will be able to cut your drying time considerably because of this feature. Not only will your clothing be dried faster, but you will save on your energy bills with a shorter dry time.

The controls will give you a much cleaner wash then you would get with a typical spin dial control. There is a setting for whitest whites that will run for about seventy minutes. This will give you an amazingly clean load of laundry with all of the extra time.

Make sure that you take some measurements when you are shopping for the right washing machine for your home. The Whirlpool WTW6200 is a big capacity machine with a lid that is almost the full width of the machine. If you have your machine in a fitted spot in your laundry room, you will have to make sure that you will get a good fit.

This machine also has a curved top which will make it a little difficult to put anything on top of the machine when it is not in use. Just be aware of these factors when you are choosing the right washing machine model for your home.

Final Thought

A top load washer like the Whirlpool WTW6200 is a good choice if you are concerned about mold issues. A front load machine is more prone to mold problems. If you have an issue with mold in your area or home, you should consider the top load machine.

buyer beware
by: James M.

Cabrio #WTW 6200 SW3 will be your nightmare like us. Extremely noisy, plus can (and will) destroy your clothing. Customer service does not exist. Customer rep states "call service". Different repair centers state - save your $$$ for service call as these machine are nothing but a hole to toss your $$$ into. There should be a recall on these machines. I guess the CEO is to involved in playing golf at the consumers expense

Lousy
by: Anonymous

Lousy machine, does not clean, can not open during washing since everything is supposed to be automatic. The problem is the dispensers do not work property. The technician has tried to repair three times in the last month including replacing the dispensers. Still not working, I purchased the extended and Lowes is carrying the cost but it is a pain. Lowes has offered to refund the full purchase price.

Whirlpool won't repair our machine !
by: Anonymous

We purchased a WTW6200. 9 months later the tub and gears had to be replaced, under warranty, due to an unbearable grinding noise.
10 months later the same exact problem.

Whirlpool will not repair under warranty.
It seems to be a defect in the product.
It also seems to be a defect in the Whirlpool corp.
I learned my lesson.
Whirlpool, NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Loud Spining Noise
by: Lee in Maryland

The washer started making loud spinning noise.
Called repair estimate from Landers Washer repair shop.

Landers manager told me the part costs around $500 plus labor and advised me to get a new washer rather than repairing it.

The washer is from Lowes and is less than 3 years old.

Bearings Failed - Piece of JUNK
by: RLB in Georgia

We bought the Cabrio WTW 6200 because my wife's sister had one which was approximately 1 year old. Ironically, the bearings failed on both machines at the exact same time. Our machine was barely 3 years old while my sister-in-law's was 4 years old. The repair man estimated $400-$500 to repair and advised me NOT to repair it because of all the other problems this machine has. Just for the heck of it, I called Whirlpool to let them know my 3 year old $900 machine was broken. They essentially told me to get lost but to have a nice day doing it. I will never buy another Whirlpool product (Maytag, Kenmore, etc) as long as I live. This is a very common problem with this line and they know it. Its all about the mighty dollar. DO NOT BUY WHIRLPOOL. YOU WILL BE SORRY IN THE END.

Tub Bearing Failure
by: Anonymous

The seal on the tub failed and allowed water to leak on the tub bearings, thereby, washing the grease out of them. The machine is very noisy during spin-up. The cost to replace the seal and bearings is around $400. Our local repair service advised against repairing the machine because of all of the problems with the Cabrio line. We are a retired couple and don't use the machine that much. However, the problem occurred after about 5 years of service. Whirlpool Corp. service representative apologized for the problems but will not provide any assistance to repair the machine. A washing machine should be good for more than 5 years. BEWARE OF THE WHIRLPOOL CABRIO LINE OF WASHERS!

3 Year Old Cabrio Main Bearing Failure
by: Anonymous

My wife and I purchased this washer exactly 3 years ago. We are a family of 3 and the washer does not do a tremendous amount of laundry every week. The main bearing on the machine is gone and it is so loud you can't carry on a conversation in the next room without shouting. Poor design, poor machine. Whirlpool should be having a recall on these. DO NOT BUY!!

not worth it
by: David Opie

We purchased this washer from Conns. Purchased 3yrs of warrenty and two mo. later had a problem with the UL feature. Come to find out the 4 springs that keep the load balance needed to be replaced. Cost for washer was $800.00 cost to repair it? $600.00. Was it worth it? NO!! It would be better to go buy a new washer. will not purchase another Whirlpool Serpio.

Lousy Washer
by: Anonymous

Poor washer. Had the WTW6200 3 years and the start button plastic tabs broke. Took it apart and the design on the start button is different from the rest. Poor design. Will be prone to break. Now the board is bad, $260 to repair. Seems that many have had the same issue. Would not buy another Whirlpool if they don't remedy. I've contacted them of the issue, won't hold mhy breath.

You're a fool to buy this piece of junk!!
by: Anonymous

My wife went by the Whirlpool name and bought this Cabrio Model WTW 6200 which was a mistake. Since Sept'07 - it's had to have the circuit board controlling everything replaced twice (once convered by them and once by us at approx $275) and now the seal broke and water got down into the motor which is too expensive to repair. If you look on this and other websites for comments - I see that these are typical repairs for this model. In addition, I never thought it cleaned well, around the bleach basket is all rusted out and it wrinkled and twisted clothes on any setting like no other washer I've ever had. Previous to this - I had two Kenmores that each lasted 15+ yrs. So now after less than 3 yrs we have to buy a new washer which definately will NOT be a Whirlpool!

wrong
by: christopher

this is a very nice machine- i prefer the models up withOUT the agitator, but this is still worth the money. the couple of bad comments below are simply because the machine is not being used properly. 1. if you are washing clothes that are prone to being wrinkled- such as jeans and dress shirts- then choose a cycle with LOW spin speed, or at medium. this is common sense... 2. if your clothes are smelling moldy- try and take them out of the washer when the cycle is completed as opposed to leaving them in there half a day. mold / mildue GROW on DAMP items. in other words, water that has been sitting. there is no way for that to happen in this washer if the clothes are removed in a timely matter.

i highly recommend this model or any of the above models that do not have agitators. the direct injet wash does a fantastic job of washing. there is no possible chance of a standard top load to wash this well. as all they do is fill up w/ water and swish your clothes around in DIRTY water.

also, the person that was happy w/ wpl and displeased w/ kennmore- kennmore IS whirlpool. sears does not build appliances- they buy appliances then stamp kennmore on them. so next time youre in sears, youre looking at a kennmore model, then the comparable whirlpool model- know they ARE THE SAME MODEL.

Great machine!
by: Anonymous

My Kenmore 800 transmission went out in less than two years, so I decided to try a different brand. We purchased this machine a couple of months ago, and I love it! It is so much better than my last machine. My clothes are clean, only slightly wrinkled after the spin cycle (nothing that doesn't come out in the dryer), and it is very quiet. I am extremely pleased so far.

Manual should indicate which detergent can be used
by: Suzanne Waren

Purchased March 09. It has an agitator. Sales man at Lowes seemed preoccupied and rushed. But He did say I had to use HE detergent before he rat off to gosh knows where. I have scoured the manual and the warranty sheet and can find nothing that indicates that I must use HE detergent.

But I took the sales man's word and have been using HE detergent. This machine does not seem to be doing as good a job as my old Amana TL did. Items don't get as clean, towels are not as soft and whites are not as white.

I am wondering if using HE detergent is the reason for this poor performance. I have tried to contact someone at Whirlpools 800 number but the automated Customer Service program requires way too much information! They have my name, address & Ph# in their computer so they should have all this information (model#,serial#,etc.) as well.

Whirlpool should at least update the manual for this machine so that it indicates clearly which type of detergent can or cannot be used.

Worst Washer Ever
by: Anonymous

I bought this washer because the saleman said it was one of the best. When I first used it, I had to shake every piece of clothing out before I put it in the dryer because everything was wrinkled due to the high speed of the spin cycle. That didn't seem to matter much, things were still wrinkled. I have had musty smelling clothes almost since the beginning, even after cleaning out the washer. My clothes do not get anywhere near as clean as they did with my Maytag. Now I have had this machine almost 2 years and the cycles stop in the middle and never complete. The Whirlpool service tech said that water is leaking between the seal between the two wash tubes and has rusted them together. This will cost almost $600.00 to replace the tubes. Also, he said he is getting an F51 code which means the computer board and motor need to be replaced at a tune of $200-300. I do not overload my washer and certainly do not abuse my washer in any way. This is simply NOT ACCEPTABLE. I have looked online and see that MANY people are having the same or similar problems. This washer needs to be recalled or at the very least the parts need to be recalled and replaced. I know that is expensive to Whirlpool, but what's the alternative? I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool again if they do not so something to fix this washer. What a poor washing machine!
