Roper RAB1121EW1
My washing machine is a Roper brand, model RAB1121EW1. I have owned this washing machine for about one year. I bought it used from a thrift store. Since I bought it used I don’t know how old it is but it has been reliable and satisfactory since I have owned it.
This is a plain model, without many features and options. It has only a normal cycle, with a single dial to control it. This is fine with me since I never used any of the other cycles when using other machines which had them. The dial gives you a choice of cold or warm water to wash. There is no hot setting, but warm and cold only is more economical. This machine seems a little smaller than most machines, but is large enough for a single person. A large family would probably need a larger model, though. Although it is a plain, no frills model, the washer does a good job of cleaning.
This is a top-loading style of washer. It has a white cabinet and a brushed steel back plate with the control dial. This brushed steel accent looks very nice and makes the washing machine look more high-end than it is. The cabinet seems to be very sturdy, and more rugged than other washing machines I have used.
The only complaint I have about it is that one of the leveling feet is missing. I have had to use a small wood block to level the machine. Even with this less than ideal cushion, the machine does not have excessive vibration or noise, but would be better with a replacement plastic foot. I do not know if the leveling foot was lost because the previous owners removed it or if it was not well made and it broke.
I have used this washer to clean king size comforters with out a problem. It was able to wash and spin it just fine. I have also put large, heavy loads of jeans through it without a problem. Even under these stressful loads the washing machine did not make any more noise than usual and did not sound like it was under any stress.
