This is a top loading large Capacity Washer / Dryer Heavy Duty combo. When I received my new washer and dryer I was so thrilled! The Washer has 3 Wash cycles Regular/Quick Wash/Casual and an extra cycle for rinsing. With an Anti Microbial Product Protection.

The dryer has the casual cycle also which makes my husbands permanent press work uniforms so easy to do. I love the way the dryer uses cool air at the end of each load I dry which makes pulling cool clothes out of the dryer so much nicer than my old dryer with all the heat deposited into my laundry room each time I took the clothes from the dryer. However much to my dismay the washer has been repaired 4 times for the same broken part - a lid switch.

For each repair I used the approved Amana repair company and out of the 4 different technicians none of them were able to find the reason why the lid switch continues to stop working and must be replaced. By the time I realized the same part was being replaced, which was on the 4TH repair of which my warranty was out and started to complain to the store manager and to Amana I was told because this 2 year old machine is out of warranty their is nothing I can do but replace the part or by a new machine or change repair companies so someone else can identify the problem.

The Amana customer service representative did however inform me that I should have had the technician do a diagnostic to find the originating problem, I probably would have done so if one of them had offered this service. On one visit I was actually at work and my 13 year old son was at home when he came.

I took it for granite that the repairman had done a complete job especially on the service I paid for. So because Amana has been unable to stand behind their product or question the repair company they approved to fix this machine I must give this appliance a rating of 1, otherwise I would have truly loved the product.
